Having Patience

On April 30, 2017 my mission papers were sent into Salt Lake to be assigned a mission. Beginning the seemingly wait of a life time. Days were long and weeks were even longer.

May 4, 2017 the call had been made!! but I still had to wait for the precious letter from Salt Lake to get back to me... My brother was getting baptized on the 13th of May and we were hopeful that it would come that weekend since all the family would be in town. To much disappointment the letter did not come.

May 15, 2017 all my family left to travel home, and still no call. I figured it would come the next weekend, not knowing how much longer I could wait. That evening I took some dogs on a walk with some close friends. I checked the mail before I left at about 7, no call. On my way home around 8:30 I stopped one last time in hope that it would somehow be there. I opened the box and this big letter was sticking out addressed to Sister McKenna Rae Cutler, from Salt Lake Utah! "ITS HERE, ITS HERE!!!!" I yelled, running all the way home.

I wanted to rip it open so bad and just know where I was going to go! There was no way I was going to be able to wait another night, I was going to open it if friends were there or not. Reluctantly my Mom gave me the okay to invite people over at 9:30 on a Monday night to be there for the big reveal.

Slowly but surely friends started to show up, it was crunch time! Finally the moment I had been waiting for had come, I carefully opened the letter and pulled out the contents. Immediately my eyes went to Illinois, Chicago...

Friends and family made guesses of where they thought I was
gonna get called to serve.

After opening my call (:
