Great first week of 2019!
Highlights of the week:
-We learned how to make Papusas with Hermana Pacas, they are actually so easy to make and sooo good when they are fresh.
-Something about being a spanish missionary in the States is that you get to translate a TON for members on different things here and there. Hermana Pacas has been trying to apply for a Canadian visa so we translated a bit for her, she thought it was funny because she had two Canadians helping her apply to get into our "country" (or so she calls it). She calls us the dream team!
-We started teaching this lady on the door step, it was such a great lesson and so powerful, then I ask for her name and she goes Shantae! Thats my sisters name, ive never met anyone else with her name!! But now we are teaching someone with her name!! (She speaks english though so we will be giving her to the Zone Leaders sadly)
-2 hour church was so fun! A lot more people came too, it was packed!
So its officially my last transfer, and with the last transfer comes the last transfer call... sadly we are getting transferred and Hermana Norton is leaving me!!!!! It was probably one of the saddest moments ever... but im so glad for the time that I got to be her companion, and for everything that Ive been able to learn from her. Im sad that it has to end after 6 weeks for us, but we have lots of plans for after the mission!! Shes gonna do some great things in her next area, I know it! Joliet 2 is gonna be great this transfer and im super excited for another 6 weeks here with a new companion (:
Quote of the week:
*this little boy we were teaching at a noche de hogar runs up to me*
"My teacher calls me a deer"
Me: why?
"Because of my eyes" *then runs away!*
Have a great one!
Things are great and getting better here, just living the dream daily!
