I hope you all had a wonderful week, and were able to enjoy General Conference as much as we did! If you missed it that okay because the talks are already uploaded on LDS.org/general-conference, so go check it out and maybe watch a talk or two (:
This week was another great week in the service of the Lord. Great things happened and will be continuing to happen here in Woodstock.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! We were sitting at dinner with Bishop Rydalch and I was like "So Bishop where are you from?" And he goes "Idaho falls" I was like oh my mom grew up there and I have a bunch of family over their. He then told me the streets he lived on and I didnt know where that was... then I said "hm Im not sure where thats at, well my mom went to Idaho Falls High school." He was like "me too!!"? Then he said "I graduated in ('93 i think...)", then I said "Im not sure when my mom graduated but she was born in '76" as I said this he about spit out his food and was like " I was born in `75!!!, I went to High School with your mom!" HAHAHA it was so funny, he didnt recognice the name though... so a week later he texted us that he found his yearbooks and found my mom! It was so funny! He goes "Yep found her! She was in all the sports. I do kinda remember her. Thats so cool!" It was so funny so they went to high school together and were even in the same ward! Small world!
Highlights:
- Izzy (an 8 years old we are teaching)- We asked her to say the opening prayer, probably the best prayer I have ever hear on my mission! Here is my favorite part --> "please bless that I can see the Hermanas trick or treating and that one of them can be dressed up as a pumpkin and the other as a ghost." Yup Legend!
- We visited a Less Active.... Lets just say ive never been chased out of someones house before until now, and I will always listen to what other missionaries write in the Area Book! #bringamember
- We went to the Methodist church sunday morning with Sister Anderson, its her tradition to go to a different church every General Conference, and this time she imvited us! It was fun attending, and singing the hymns that we sing just with some different words. They also had a really cool pipe organ!
- We watched General Conference, the first session with Tonya at her house (someone we are teaching, and the last session at the Andersons house with Karyn (another person we are teaching), then watched the rest at the church. Conference was SOO GOOD!!! 2 hours of church, and 12 new temples! Thats 12 more temples we will be able to visit and attend!!
- We killed our cleaning inspection! The senior couple got so excited, they took pictures of our whole apartment haha!
- We cleaned windows professionally at Sister Gaynes house
- We went to a farm last pday with Nancy Hernandez and her sisters #onlyinwoodstock
- Alot more happened this week, I just cant remember right now...
I finished the Book of Mormon this week! Seriously best book ever, everyone should read it. But I finished just in time for the Prophet to invited all the Women of the church to start and finish the Book of Mormon before the end of the year, so I restarted again!
But I hope you all were able to have a great week and hear from our living Prophet and Apostles. Great things are happening in the work of the Lord.
Love,
Hermana Cutler
