-Zone Conf, as always was super uplifting. I got to play the piano, and see the Litkes (senior missionaries from my first area!). But the ward that was signed up to feed us didnt show up... so we didnt get to eat till about 2pm, shout out to Jimmy Johns for being 'freaky fast' with the delivery and feeding such a big group on such short notice!!
- We went to McHenry County College and taught a philosophy class about Mormonism with the Zone Leaders (Elders Ward and Minor), we were so nervous going into it because we had no idea how people would react and if we could fill the time we were given. Well it turned out to be a sucess! We shared the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then answered questions the students had. It was actually a ton of fun, and was probably a highlight of the week! Plus we filled the time given with easy! Something I keep learning on my mission is that its okay to step out of your comfort zone and try new things.
- Our investigators daughter brought us flowers to church, it was probably the cutest thing ever! Plus everytime she sees us she says shes a missionary too, and tries to come with us. Its so funny!
- We went to the Habels house, and they let us use their Hammock!! It was like I was in heaven!! Plus we got to hear about their vacation in Columbia. Someday ill check it out.
- We had a lesson with a members 84 yr old dad and it was probably the funniest thing ever, he was spitting out the most random stuff he goes "I feel bad for those Mormon kids raised in the church, who become doctors, and then they think their poop doesnt smell!" Then was telling us a story about his car and goes "the guy knew nothing about cars, he gave it back to us all disfigured. You tried to turn on the lights and the windshiled blades would go off, you go to unlock the car and the gas tank would pop, you go to press the gas and the car blows up!" Needless to say it was an intresting night...
- So here in woodstock the members are always bringing us food and taking us out, then give us a bunch of leftovers so our fridge is always full! Anyways an Hermano took us out to get pizza one night from a pretty good pizza place and sent us home with all the leftovers (there was so much pizza left over!!) So we called up the Elders and asked if they wanted it, well their response was "Hermanas we testify we will be there to pick up the pizza in one hour!" Never have I ever heard some use "Testify" and "Pizza" in the same sentence! But hey mission life brings out everything!
