2/19/2018 Cities with the Hermanitas

Hola qué tal?

Pretty busy week here in Blue Island. 

We were trying to find some less actives that lived on the state line the other day. But when we pulled up and got out of the car this lady yelled at us from her window "Who are you guys? From a church?!" It took us by surprise, usually when this happens its followed by some not so appropriate language... or something else... we explained we were missionaries teaching people about Jesus Christ. Well one thing led to another and we ended up teaching her a lesson right there. She told us her whole life story, something a lot similar to Nildas and explained how she wanted to come back to church. It was quite an experience, we gave her number and address to the english missionaries so she can continue learning. We ended up never finding the less actives. 

Saturday we had a combined valentines day party with the english ward, let me just say english parties are WAY different than spanish parties... but it was the best party ever, there were twice as many investigators there than members! We had this family named the Villicana Velazquez (Noé, Alicia, y Pamela) who we have been teaching since I got here. They even taught us how to make tamales during christmas time. Every lesson we invite them to church but they say no, this time we invited them to an activity and they were so excited that they even brought food! Immedietly when they walked in Obispo and some members came and talked to them, letting them sit with their families, they had such a good time. We gave them a church tour, and invited them back to our Noche de Película this up coming week, and they said they want to bring there whole family!

Mirna is awesome! Last lesson we gave her the plan of salvation folleto, and a chapter in the Book of Mormon to read. We got there and she had read them both, and was ready to discuss it. It was awesome because instead of us teaching the whole thing we were able to have a discussion with her about it, and she was able to teach us what she had learned! Sadly she couldnt come to church this week, but our ward mission leader and his wife came out with us for a few hours to do some stop bys. We brought them to meet Mirna and immedietly Mirna and Hermana Negrete became best friends, it was like they had known eachother before! Mirna loved it and said she would also come to the Noche de Película with them this week. Our members are awesome!! 

Hermana Marple has one month left in the mission, and every single member is trying to set her up on dates with their friends, with past missionaries, with their brothers! And they are serious!! It is so funny!! But she hates it. #shesgottafindhereternalcompanion
