Buenos días!
This week was definetly one for the books, I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. We had our ups and downs but it was all good in the end.
To start off we had a baptism, keeping the Blue Island curse lifted! It was a ten year old girl named Rebeka, her mom is once again a less active member (very less active but she decided to start coming back) and her dad isnt a member yet (seems to be the pattern here for us). Really cool family though, we love teaching them! The baptism was really good President Bingham even came, but we found out that the hot water tank in the church doesnt really work that well sooo she also had a cold baptism... Obispos gonna get on that one! #nomorecoldbaptisms
Also the last kid we baptised his father has started coming to church!! He is so cool too! We talked to Hermana about it and she said theres no way hes gonna listen to us but she said if we want we can certainly try. Hermana Durón and I looked at eachother and said "Challenge Accepted!"
I just love Blue Island. The ward is great, investigators are great, the atmosphere is great. Blue Island is great!! We had interviews with President this week and he told me he had been thinking of closing our area back during my my first transfer here, but that it didnt feel right. So he left us be and closed an Elders area instead. Well the next transfer so many great things happened, and has continued to happen. Such great things that he has decided to get us another flat for six months to see what more we can do.
He asked me if I thought this area is hard. Looking at what has happened in the past one would consider it hard but what ive really learned is that attitude counts. If you go in to a place with a bad attitude, thinking that there is no way you can convert a single person then youre right. But if you have that eye of faith and do everything you can possibly do then the Lord will provide, because there is people ready to hear what you have to say.
Things are great and getting better!!
Quote of the week:
We were eating dinner with the morgan park sisters when Sister Andrews weave fell out of her hair. Sister Cuascut just goes "dang did that just fall out?", then Sister Andrews goes "it was a cold pday eve when Sister Andrews lost her weave!" Oh man we all died!! It was the perfect way to end the craziest week of a lifetime.
Well I hope y'all have a great week!
Hermana Cutler
