Such a great week out here, the work of the Lord is progressing as always.
This past week we had Conferencia de Zona and had the opportunity to learn some great things to help us become better missionaries. Our Zone Leaders came up with an amazing baptismal invite and shared it with us all. We call it The Straight-Gate Dialogue. Throughout the week we have tried it with investigators, and it has worked so well for us (and same with the other missionaries of our zone!)
The first person we tried it with was Juan Brindiz. I have been teaching him for quite some time now and he would always tell me he needed to learn more before he got baptized, well we had a goal going into the week to help him set a goal for baptism since we have almost finished all the lessons. But didnt quite know how we would do it since he gives us the same answer everytime. Then we learned about The Straight Gate! Its life changer folks! We used it and it was probably one of the best lessons in a while. In the end we gave him a goal for a date in may and he said it sounded like a good day but that he would have to pray about it!!
Sunday came around and we had hit all our goals for the week, but we found out some Elders in our district hadnt quite made it there yet. So we all went up to Chi 2 to Blitz the area, and find someone to put on date for baptism! The Elders gave us a list of PNIs to stop by so we all went to work!
Well story short we hit up one of our old investigators from Blue Island (Nilda) the Elders had a hard time getting in with her so its been a while since they went. Anyways Elder Osorio told me to stop by that she loved to see me. Well the thing about the place she lives in is its impossible to visit people since they are always doing something. Well this is miracle one, we got there right after dinner during down time and they let us visit her! Miracle two she was actually there and was so excited to see us. We sat down and talked about how things were. She misses church but has been ready in the Book of Mormon and Bible, and wants to come back (Miracle three), we then thought The Straight Gate! Miracle four, she wants to set a goal to come back AND for a baptismal date!! She was so excited by the end of the lesson it was so awesome.
We couldnt stay long becuase they had to get back to there schedules but that whole cita was just miracle after miracle, it was so cool to be apart of it and help the members of our district! Mission life is the best life, what else would I rather be doing at 8pm on a sunday night?
I just want to tell y'all that I know this church is true and that God really does love every single one of us. As I have tried to notice his hand in my life everyday I have realized how much he really is there for us.
I hope you all have a great week.
Thanks for reading about all my adventures!
