3/19/2018 BLUE ISLAND HAD A BAPTISM!!

BLUE ISLAND HAD A BAPTISM!!

That is right, the Blue Island on going curse of no baptism (which lasted for FIVE years) has been lifted!!!

His name is Jedrek Sosa and is going to be 11 this week. His mom was a member but during his life never came to church. Well he told his mom he wanted to go to church and she said "well if we are going to go to church we are going to go to this one." We taught him all the lessons, and he was baptized yesterday. Ive never seen a baptism so packed in my life! I think there was more people at the baptism then come to church... we couldnt fit in the baptismal room so we moved to the chapel, and every single pew was filled with people. I wish I couldve taken a picture.... anyways when we filled the font the hot water wasnt working so it was just about as cold as Colbys baptism... haha once again pretty dang funny.

Obispo was just so happy, you could see it on his face. He kept saying "Gracias Hermanas". We then told president our baptism was sucessfull and he got super excited as well- his response "Blue Island is on fire 🔥".

Also a family I had taught in Gurnee, their teenage daughters got baptized this past weekend as well. Great things are happening!

I found out I will be getting a new companion this week, her name is Hermana Duron. She actually went to Gurnee when I left so she was there to baptize this family! All that I know is she has been out for about 5 months and her parents are from Argentina, and Mexico so she is a native!!! Way pumped to get a native companion!!

Few side notes from the week:
-Chicago gets so into St. Patricks day! They die the whole river bright green, its so cool!!
-Left our keys in the Senior sisters car after our temple trip, so we had to walk to some citas...
Then the same day I broke our house key this so we had to crawl through the window a few times before we got our copy back from the English Sisters.
-Hermano Lozano told us he wouldnt drink Tea for a whole month. If he does I have to eat Sushi of his choice... if he doesnt he has to eat a big bowl of albóndigas (meetballs) porque no le gusta.
-Three out of the four of us missionaries in this ward went to the CCM in México. So we had to wear our shirts to service... Elder Salamanca tried his hardest to fit in.
-Hermana Marple is going home to find her "Eternal companion" #¡hastaluego!
