My week was pretty good, we started teaching this lady named Denice (everytime I say her name I can just hear the key and peele video when he goes AARON, then de-NICE!) We had such a great lesson with her and taught her about 3 Nephi 11 which led into baptism, we explained how we need to be baptized by the proper authority and explained the priesthood and how the men in our church can trace their line of priesthood all the way back to Christ! She thought it was the coolest thing ever! And said she would think about baptism!! But that she wanted to come to church first.
She came yesterday and LOVED it!!! It was packed due to family reunions, meaning tons of kids and one loud meeting... well at the beginning she turns over to me and asks if there is a "church" for the kids. I was like oh shoot she doesnt like all the kids becuase they are being so loud! So then I explained it to her that during Sacrament we all come together as families and partake of the sacrament so that everyone big or small can partake of it as well. And how families are a very important part in our church.
It was fast and testimony meeting and all us missionaries ended up bareing our testimonies (in both wards), overall it was a pretty good meeting, I got scared a couple times though of what people were saying but it all ended up good! I asked Denice how she thought it was, and her face LIT UP! She just loved that all the children were in there listening and learning she said "these young folks are our future generation and this is exactly where they need to be in the church!" She also loved the fact that we take the Sacrament every week. It was awesome!
Other than that it was a pretty basic week. Our mission is officially combined with the West mission, so our numbers of missionaries just doubled. Their Mission President (President Griffin) is done with his mission so President Bingham has taken over. Oh funfact aparently the mission president in Wisconson is President Cutler! Hahaha representing the name!
Some highlights of the week:
-Nancy (a member in the spanish branch) got home from her mission last week, and she has been the literal best! Shes gonna start coming to lessons with us, and helping us reactivate this whole ward!
-Michoacana con el Hermano Daniel (garcia), idk why but everyone calls eachother by first names here and its so confusing! Hermano roasted us hard core though, he went off about how we need to eat more because we are so tiny, then told us to stop eating cereal becuase we need good big breakfasts! (Funfact Ive eaten maybe a few bowls of cereal on my mission!)
-We had a Fiesta at one of President Binghams Counselors house, he invited the whole branch and it was a blast! Then a bunch of Americans who spoke spanish on there missions came aswell, it was so fun!
ALSO
My investigator Maria from Blue Island called the day I left the area to tell us her and Herminio (her boyfriend) are getting married ASAP, so she could get baptized!!!!! When I heard this I flipped out, we had been teaching her for 3 months, and she has been wanting to be baptized so bad! So this weekend the 7 & 8 de Julio they are getting married then she is getting baptized!!!! Im so excited for her, sadly I wont be able to be there but will hear all about it from Hermana Durón and will be able to skype in!!!
Well hope y'all have a happy 4th, enjoy the fireworks!
